Just clone, build, and install the D3 renderer plugin:
https://github.com/jri/dm4-d3js-renderer
Once installed, a new topicmap type appears in the topicmap dialog.

All is experimental. While most operations do work (create, edit, delete, move, associate, ...) rendering is quite rudimentary at the moment. So it's not yet really useful. Rather an (eye-candy) tech demo.

This is my first experience with D3 and I can say I like it very much. Its elegant, small, and powerful. The D3 demos (in particular the graph-based) provide us valuable inspiration for elaborating the DM GUI. In conjunction with an automatic force-based layout especially I like the ideas of a) local gravity and of b) sticky nodes as it can combine manual with automatic placement.

Let me know if you need any installation help.

That's great. Thank you!

From my side DM 4.2 can be released in the next days. Yesterday's c-base dev-lounge revealed one core issue in conjunction with Malte's new Wikidata plugin. At least this one will be fixed before the release.

Cheers,
