sun developed within javafx-introduction on a JWebPane Swing
component ready to use ;) based on webkit engine

more details about the html component.
http://blogs.sun.com/thejavatutorials/entry/html_component
and here
http://weblogs.java.net/blog/ixmal/archive/2008/05/introducing_jwe.html

my understanding on javafx-usage scenarios so far:
* possible to use designed "ui-components" for
web-interfaces as well as for desktop applications in java,
no code change needed like in other proprietary stuff like
as3 and air stuff (nice webpage written in javafx
http://parleys.com/display/PARLEYS/Home)

other advantages are, that they are heading for open source
and have totally java cross platform abilities

How about JRex of mozilla, which uses Gecko as engine? It
seems to be somehow official maintained by Mozilla.
Personally I'll prefer to use Gecko because we can be pretty
sure that it will be maintened properly.

It seems easy, but don't know much about the integration in
Swing and if it runs well under Mac OS X so far. If I find
the time this week I'll give it a try and post my findings.
